About the Farm

Farm History

Shady Hill Farms is a sustainable family sheep farm located in Newbury, Ohio. Established in 1964 in Hamburg, New York, Shady Hill uses superior genetics and traditional methods to produce superior sheep and sheep-related products.

In 1983, we relocated our farm to Ohio, just east of Cleveland and slightly north and west of Pittsburgh, PA. Our farms consist of 52 acres, almost half of which is wooded. We are progressively creating more pastures for our flock; our experience is that sheep are healthiest when they are outdoors. Our rich and fertile soil produces the best feed for our sheep.

Because we are in the snow belt, our Winters can be a challenge, but we find that’s the best time of year to break out our Shady Hill Farms woolens, sheepskins and lanolin cream!
